"Ode to the Gunner's Wife"

They stood by us through thick and thin, through long and short term absences.   The cried when we did and rejoiced in our achievements as we did.   They supported us and provided us with the will to achieve and they worked just as hard if not harder than we did in maintaining not only a family home but the essential stability for our children not to mention ourselves.   They have protected us, loved us, cared for us and supported us throughout our service and it is to our respective Wives we owe a significant nay unmeasurable debt of gratitude.   Without them, where would we be?, then? and today?    Most definitely not where I am today!   We should all love them, honour them, cherish them and thank them every day of our lives - Gunners Wives!
