Welcome:

Welcome to the Australian Artillery Association's Email Information newsletter.

My apologies for the delay in getting this Newsletter out but what with Christmas the New Year and a major project I am currently working on for the RAAHC website, the details of which will be disclosed in approximately 4 to 6 weeks time.   Therefore time has been a valuable commodity and the balance of that time between one's hobby and family a fine line.

Should you wish to submit an article or recommend an article be published please forward the information to the Webmaster.

CAUTION WITH EMAILS

One of our own, Kim McGrath, has fallen victim to his computer being locked up and a ransom to the value of US $750 being demanded if he wants to receive the unlock code.

All this as a result of opening an attachment to an email.

If you do not know who the email came from, were not expecting an email with an attachment or for some reason you suspect the attachment is questionable then please do not open the attachment.   Apparently once the attachment is opened it notifies the email sender who then has access to your computer to install the virus that causes your computer to lock up and thereafter gives you messages of demand for monies.

Simply delete the email entirely from your computer without opening the attachment.

101 BATTERY ASSOCIATION WEBSITE

The 101 Battery Association has recently launched it's new website that is sponsored by the Australian Artillery Association.

101 Battery Association took up the offer of free sponsorship for a website limited to approximately 4 active web pages and a number of other static web pages.   In doing so this enables them to maintain a presence amongst not only their members and the greater Artillery family but also a public presence for all to enjoy.

The website, specifically their Photo Album will continue to grow as their members deposit photographs, documents and any videos thereby enabling these items to be secured for all to see.

103 BATTERY CENTENARY REUNION - WARNING ORDER

The current 103 Battery located at Robertson Barracks in Darwin will celebrate the 100th Birthday of the Battery by having a Centenary Reunion in Darwin over the period 4, 5 and 6 March 2016.

Due to the limited number of seats available in the dinner venue only past and present members of the Battery are eligible to attend.

Full details of the dinner will be published shortly on a number of webpages being put together by the Australian Artillery Association including an online Registration Form facility.

Please visit the Australian Artillery Association website and look for the formal notice on the Home Page with a link to the dinner information.

103 BATTERY HISTORY

While we are on the subject of 103 Battery a complete history of the Battery has recently been put together by John Redman and updated by the BC 103 Battery.  The document covers the battery throughout it's entire existence and is well worth a read.
